Amu Hinamori is an elementary school student that seems to change personalities depending on who she's around. She's always been the type to do what everyone else wants, but she really wants to be able to be herself. One day, she wishes for the courage to be her true self and finds three colorful eggs the next morning. As it turns out, these eggs hatch into her guardian characters, Ran, Miki, and Su, who help her gain confidence and embrace her true self.

Lulu believes that destroying dreams will make the world a better place. Amu tries to argue with Lulu, but she's interrupted by the bullies, who are back and ready to cause more trouble.

Amu's guardian characters, Ran, Miki, and Su, sense that their owner is in danger and start to push out of their eggs. Amu is able to transform with their help into her new self, Amulet Spade. As Amulet Spade, Amu is able to see the true form of the bullies, who are actually under the spell of some dark force. She's able to defeat the dark force and turn the bullies back to normal.

After the fight, Lulu covers up the situation by telling everyone that Amu was telling a story. She tells Amu that she wants to be her friend, but Amu is hesitant. She doesn't trust Lulu and feels like there's something off about her.

At the end of the episode, Amu is able to finish the maze and impress everyone with her hard work. Lulu is off to do more work for her organization, but she seems to have taken an interest in Amu. The episode ends with the promise of more adventures to come.
