Signing Time! is an American television program that targets children from the ages of one to eight as a fun way to teach or introduce them to American Sign Language. Rachel de Azevedo Coleman, along with an animated frog and children, teaches American Sign Language in a fun way that includes the use of visual, auditory and kinesthetics. One of the children is Rachel Coleman's own daughter Leah, who at 14 months old was diagnosed with a profound hearing loss and ended up knowing ASL before any of her peers could speak. The series focuses on the teaching of signs for commonly used words in everyday situations, such as colors, days of weeks, eating, areas of the home, activities and family members. Rachel Coleman's use of colored tape on her fingers help the children follow along in learning American Sign Language.
