Back in the city, Spider-Man's alter-ego, Peter Parker, is trying to juggle his superhero responsibilities with his job at the Daily Bugle. J. Jonah Jameson, the editor-in-chief, is constantly harassing Peter for photos of Spider-Man to use in his newspaper. As Spider-Man is patrolling the city, he comes across Mr. Freeze wreaking havoc with his ice gun. The two engage in a battle, but Mr. Freeze proves to be a difficult opponent. It becomes clear that Mr. Freeze has a personal vendetta against Spider-Man, and the fight ends with the villain escaping.
