Spider-Man (1967) was an animated television series based on the Marvel comic book character Spider-Man. The show premiered on September 9, 1967, and ran for a total of three seasons, ending on June 14, 1970. In the first season premiere episode, titled "The Power of Doctor Octopus / Sub-Zero For Spidey," Spider-Man faces off against his arch-nemesis, Doctor Octopus.

The episode begins with Doctor Octopus robbing a bank in New York City. Spider-Man swings into action, determined to stop the supervillain and save the innocent bystanders. Doctor Octopus proves to be a formidable foe, using his robotic arms to overpower Spider-Man at every turn. However, our hero doesn't give up and manages to thwart Doctor Octopus's plan to rob the bank.

Meanwhile, in the Arctic Circle, a scientific expedition led by Professor Smythe discovers a hidden laboratory belonging to another notorious supervillain, Mr. Freeze. Mr. Freeze - also known as Sub-Zero - has been in hibernation for years and awakens upon the arrival of the scientists. Seeking revenge against Spider-Man, Mr. Freeze decides to use the expedition as a cover to travel to New York City and carry out his plan.

Back in the city, Spider-Man's alter-ego, Peter Parker, is trying to juggle his superhero responsibilities with his job at the Daily Bugle. J. Jonah Jameson, the editor-in-chief, is constantly harassing Peter for photos of Spider-Man to use in his newspaper. Peter must come up with a plan to keep his secret identity safe while also meeting Jameson's demands.

As Spider-Man is patrolling the city, he comes across Mr. Freeze wreaking havoc with his ice gun. The two engage in a battle, but Mr. Freeze proves to be a difficult opponent. It becomes clear that Mr. Freeze has a personal vendetta against Spider-Man, and the fight ends with the villain escaping.

In the second half of the episode, Doctor Octopus is back and more determined than ever to defeat Spider-Man. He hatches a plan to use an experimental serum to give himself superpowers and enlists the help of Professor Smythe to create the serum. Spider-Man, who has been tipped off about Octopus's plan, sets out to stop him before it's too late.

In the final showdown, Spider-Man faces off against Doctor Octopus, who has mutated into a giant, super-powered version of himself. The two engage in an intense battle, with Spider-Man not only fighting Doctor Octopus but also dodging the attacks of the police, who mistake him for the villain. In the end, Spider-Man is able to defeat Doctor Octopus and save the day.

Overall, "The Power of Doctor Octopus / Sub-Zero For Spidey" is an action-packed episode that introduces some of Spider-Man's most well-known villains. The episode showcases the character's agility and strength, as well as his wit and cunning. It's a must-watch for fans of Spider-Man and classic animated television.
