In the premiere episode of Summer House, we meet a group of nine friends who escape their busy lives in New York City to spend the summer partying in a luxurious beach house in Montauk, Long Island. Many of the cast members are already coupled up or have a history with each other, causing some tension right off the bat.
The house itself is stunning, complete with a dock and pool, and the friends waste no time settling in and cracking open some beers. We quickly learn that one of the cast members, Jordan, is the designated "dad" of the group and takes his responsibilities seriously, making sure everyone is fed and on schedule.
As the weekend progresses, tensions start to simmer as Carl, who has a history with fellow cast member Lindsay, expresses interest in another woman. This causes a bit of drama as Lindsay is clearly hurt and trying to process her feelings. However, the group tries to put their differences aside and make the most of their time in the sun.
Things heat up even more as the night wears on and the group heads out to a local club. Some of the cast members are more interested in finding love than others, but they all seem to be having a good time dancing and drinking. However, one member in particular, Everett, seems to be causing some trouble as he starts hitting on Lindsay despite her clear disinterest.
As the episode comes to a close, the group reflects on their wild weekend together and the drama that came along with it. They all seem to agree that they're happy to have this summer escape from their busy lives in the city, but it remains to be seen what other conflicts and drama will arise as the season continues.
Overall, the premiere episode of Summer House does a great job of setting up the show's premise and introducing the cast of characters. The stunning beach house and party atmosphere provide a fun backdrop to the drama that unfolds between the cast members, and it's clear that there will be no shortage of conflict and romance as the season progresses.
