Summer Rush is a reality TV show that premiered on the Food Network in June 2020. The show follows three families as they operate their seasonal businesses in the summertime on Lake George, a popular vacation destination in upstate New York. Each family owns and operates a different type of business, including a lakeside restaurant, a food truck, and a mini-golf course.

The first family introduced on the show is the Foy family, which owns and operates the Lake George Shoreline Restaurant. The patriarch of the family, Buddy Foy Sr., oversaw the daily operations of the restaurant for many years but is now in the process of passing the torch to his son, Buddy Foy Jr., who has big plans for the restaurant's future. However, the transition isn't exactly seamless as father and son butt heads over how to run the restaurant. There's also tension with their head chef, who doesn't appreciate the younger Foy's vision for the place.

The second family featured on Summer Rush is the Terrell family, which owns and runs a food truck called 'Mom and Dad's Italian Ice.' This family is led by husband and wife duo, Jesse and Jennifer Terrell, who quit their corporate jobs to start their own business. They are helped by their daughter, Jessica, who acts as the face of the food truck and helps with sales and marketing. They are also joined by Billy Terrell, Jesse's brother, who is a talented chef and is instrumental in coming up with new flavors for their Italian ice. The Terrells are not making a ton of money from their food truck but they are proud of their venture and hope that it will one day grow into something more.

Finally, the third family is the Foy's Mini-Golf owners, Nick and Alison Foy. They have a lot of experience running a business as they have operated their mini-golf course for many years. However, with both of their kids off to college, they are finding it more challenging to keep the business afloat on their own. Both Nick and Alison are hoping that their children will return to the family business after completing their degrees.

Summer Rush documents the behind-the-scenes work that each family undertakes to prepare for the busy summer season on Lake George. The show demonstrates how each business has to navigate unique challenges that come with operating a seasonal business in a competitive environment. There are challenges related to staffing, supplies, marketing, and customer service. The show also examines the personal relationships between family members who are working together and the different dynamics that exist.

Summer Rush is a show that is not only entertaining but also gives viewers insight into what it takes to start, operate, and grow seasonal businesses. The show demonstrates the importance of hard work, adaptability, and family support. Moreover, the show highlights the importance of the local community and the role they play in the success of these businesses. In summary, Summer Rush is a must-watch for anyone interested in entrepreneurship, family dynamics, and the food industry.
