Ep 20. Wyatt Earp Rides Again

In season 6 episode 20 of The Andy Griffith Show titled "Wyatt Earp Rides Again", the residents of Mayberry are thrilled to hear that a famous Hollywood director is coming to town to shoot a movie. The movie, titled "Sheriff Without a Gun", is a biopic of Wyatt Earp and Andy volunteers to play the role of Earp.

Meanwhile, a group of bank robbers from out of town arrives in Mayberry. The robbers, realizing that the town is in the midst of a movie shoot, decide it is the perfect time to rob the bank. The only problem- they can't tell the difference between the actors and the real deputies.

As the robbers storm the bank, they come face to face with Andy, Barney, and the other actors. Thinking that they are real law enforcement officials, the robbers surrender immediately. Andy, realizing that he has had success as a sheriff without a gun, decides to finally embrace his inner Wyatt Earp and agrees to finish filming the movie.

In a heartwarming end to the episode, Andy and Barney ride off together in a horse-drawn carriage, dressed in full western garb, having saved the day in true Wyatt Earp style.

"Wyatt Earp Rides Again" is a classic episode of The Andy Griffith Show, showcasing the beloved characters in a unique situation. The mix of Hollywood glamour and small-town charm makes for hilarious moments and heartwarming scenes.
