The Chew is a daytime talk show dedicated to all things culinary. Join the Fab Five–Carla Hall, Clinton Kelly, Michael Symon, Daphne Oz, and Mario Batali–as they explore the world of food and how it brings people together. In season 5, episode 41, the Fab Five is celebrating Friendsgiving with a twist. Each dish must be made for under $5.

Carla Hall starts the show by sharing her recipe for Roasted Acorn Squash with Cherries and Almonds. She bought the squash for $1.50 and used staples like olive oil, salt, and pepper to make this dish. The cherries add a sweet note to the savory squash, and the almonds give it a satisfying crunch.

Clinton Kelly makes Pesto-Stuffed Mushroom Caps, using mushrooms he found at a local farmers market for $2. He blends together garlic, basil, Parmesan cheese, and pine nuts to make his pesto filling and tops each mushroom with a sprinkle of breadcrumbs for added texture.

Michael Symon whips up a quick and easy Butternut Squash Soup using only a few pantry staples and a $2 squash. He starts by sautéing onions and garlic in a pot, then adds cubed squash, vegetable broth, and spices. After simmering for 20 minutes, Michael purees the soup until it's smooth and silky.

Daphne Oz shares her recipe for Brussels Sprouts Slaw with Maple Mustard Dressing, which she made for only $3. She shreds the Brussels sprouts and adds chopped apple, dried cranberries, and toasted pecans for a satisfying crunch. The dressing is a simple combination of maple syrup, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, and olive oil.

Finally, Mario Batali brings it home with his Turkey Meatloaf, which he made for only $5. He uses cost-effective ground turkey, eggs, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, and carrots and onions to make his meatloaf. After baking in the oven, Mario glazes the meatloaf with a mixture of ketchup and brown sugar for added flavor.

Throughout the show, the Fab Five shares tips on how to save money in the kitchen without sacrificing flavor. From buying produce in season to using pantry staples like olive oil and vinegar, the Fab Five shows that you don't have to break the bank to eat well.

In addition to the recipes, the Fab Five shares ideas on how to decorate your home for the holidays using items you already have on hand. They make festive wreaths out of leftover produce and create beautiful table settings using seasonal fruits and vegetables.

As always, the Fab Five brings their infectious energy and enthusiasm to the show, making cooking and entertaining seem approachable and fun. Their easy-to-follow recipes and helpful tips will leave viewers feeling inspired to create their own budget-friendly Friendsgiving feast.
