In episode 10 of season 1 of The Dead Files, titled "A Watery Grave," Amy Allan and Steve DiSchiavi travel to Lafayette, Indiana to investigate reports of paranormal activity at a historic mansion. The homeowners, Kevin and Arianne, have experienced a series of frightening events, including seeing apparitions and hearing mysterious noises.
As soon as Amy arrives at the mansion, she senses a strong presence and begins to describe a violent and tragic history involving an old well on the property. According to Amy, the well was once used to dispose of bodies and has become a portal for negative energy. She also senses the presence of a powerful and malevolent entity that seems to be targeting Kevin and Arianne.
Meanwhile, Steve investigates the history of the mansion and discovers a disturbing connection to a notorious serial killer known as the "Monster of the Midwest." He also learns about a local legend involving an infant who was thrown into the well by its own mother.
As Amy and Steve continue their investigation, they uncover more evidence of paranormal activity, including cold spots, strange smells, and unexplained movement. They also interview several witnesses who have had their own terrifying experiences in and around the mansion.
In the end, Amy and Steve believe that the negative energy at the mansion is related to the well and the violent history of the area. They advise Kevin and Arianne to seal the well and perform a cleansing ritual to rid the mansion of any remaining negative energy. The episode concludes with Kevin and Arianne expressing their gratitude to Amy and Steve for helping them understand and cope with their paranormal experiences.
