Ep 12. Intervention

Peter Parker is still dealing with the after-effects of his battle with the Green Goblin in the twelfth episode of The Spectacular Spider-Man's first season, entitled "Intervention". He's been suffering from nightmares, and when he starts seeing hallucinations of the Goblin, he realizes that he needs help dealing with his trauma.

Peter decides to reach out to Dr. Curt Connors, a scientist and one of his father's old colleagues, for help. Connors is happy to see Peter but is worried about his mental state when Peter reveals that he's been having hallucinations. He recommends that Peter talk to a therapist, but Peter is hesitant to do so and doesn't want to take medication.

Meanwhile, Norman Osborn is also dealing with the aftermath of his battle with Spider-Man, but in a very different way. He's obsessed with finding out the true identity of his enemy and hires a private investigator to track him down. Norman manages to discover Peter's secret identity but decides to keep the information to himself for now.

As Peter struggles to come to terms with his trauma, he finds himself increasingly isolated from his friends. Gwen is still angry with him for lying to her about why he couldn't go to the dance, and Mary Jane is preoccupied with her own problems. Peter feels like he has nowhere to turn except for Dr. Connors.

Eventually, Peter agrees to see a therapist, but the session doesn't go as he expects. The therapist is dismissive of Peter's concerns and suggests that he's making up his hallucinations to get attention. Peter feels even more isolated and frustrated, but Dr. Connors assures him that not all therapists are like that and encourages him to keep trying.

Meanwhile, Norman's obsession with Spider-Man leads him to take drastic measures. He hires the Shocker to attack the Daily Bugle in an attempt to lure Spider-Man out into the open. Peter, who happens to be at the Bugle at the time, is forced to reveal his identity to protect his coworkers.

With his secret out in the open, Peter realizes that he can't keep hiding from the people who care about him. He reconciles with Gwen, who forgives him for lying to her, and Mary Jane, who reveals that her mother has been diagnosed with cancer.

As the episode comes to a close, Peter feels like he's reached a turning point. He's still struggling with his trauma, but he's no longer alone. He has friends who support him, and he's starting to realize that he doesn't have to suffer in silence.
