Ep 19. The Attack

While the war in Europe is raging on, Ike has become increasingly worried about the food shortages happening in his store due to rationing. As a result, he has a heart attack and is given advice by Dr. Spencer to relax if he expects to make a full recovery. However, Corabeth to become extremely concerned about Ike going back to the store and having another attack that she decides to sell it so they can move into a cottage near the ocean. In the meantime, Jason and the other Walton kids take it upon themselves to keep Ike’s store open for him while he is in the hospital. One of the things that Ben and Jim Bob do is make molasses out of the sorghum that grows to replace the short supply of sugar. After Ike and Corabeth return to the mountain, they are impressed at the job the kids did and ultimately decide to stay on the mountain.
