Join the dedicated team of wildlife experts at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay for another exciting episode of The Wildlife Docs, now in its second season. In episode 8, titled "Love the Skin You're In," the team focuses on skin and fur issues in some of the park's most beloved residents.

The episode begins with Dr. Dominique Fleitas examining a porcupine named Quilliam. Quilliam is having trouble shedding his coat, which is causing some painful skin issues. Dr. Dominique carefully checks his skin and recommends a unique treatment that involves spraying him down with a water bottle to mimic the rainforest environment where porcupines typically live. She also shows Quilliam's caretakers how to gently remove some of his loose quills by hand, all while keeping him calm and comfortable.

Next, viewers are introduced to an African penguin named Auntie Dot who is dealing with feather loss. Dr. Peter Black works with Auntie Dot to create a custom jacket made out of neoprene material, which will keep her warm and help protect her skin from the sun.

The episode continues with a visit from a mother and baby tamandua, also known as a lesser anteater. The young tamandua is struggling with some skin and fur issues, so Dr. Heather Trent gives him a thorough examination. She discovers that the baby has some mites, which can be treated with a special shampoo and medication. Dr. Heather also teaches the caretakers how to properly groom the baby's fur to help keep him healthy and happy.

The team then moves on to investigate some skin issues with a group of Burmese pythons. Dr. Dominique works with the team to examine the snakes' scales and recommends a special treatment to help them shed their skin more easily. The team also gently handles the snakes, showing viewers how they can safely handle reptiles like pythons.

Viewers will also have the chance to meet a group of flamingos, including one named Pink Lady who is dealing with some foot issues. Dr. Peter examines her feet and creates a special pair of custom shoes to help protect her sensitive skin and keep her comfortable.

Finally, the episode ends with a heartwarming story about a 17-year-old sloth named Harry. Harry is a beloved resident of Busch Gardens Tampa Bay, and the team has a surprise in store for him. Viewers will have to tune in to find out what it is!

Overall, "Love the Skin You're In" is a fascinating look at the wide range of skin and fur issues that can affect animals in captivity. The Wildlife Docs team's dedication, expertise, and compassion are on full display as they work tirelessly to ensure the health and happiness of their animal patients.
