  • January 11, 2019

From farm-to-table cuisine to creative comfort food, Guy Fieri has explored countless culinary creations on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. But season 1 episode 13 of Triple D Nation takes us on a journey entirely focused on seafood dishes.

Titled "From the Sea," Guy revisits seafood hotspots across the United States to showcase their mouthwatering offerings. From Hawaiian-style poke bowls to lobster rolls from a southern seafood shack, viewers will be left salivating for a taste of the ocean.

The episode begins in Rockport, Maine, where Guy returns to Graffam Bros. Seafood Shack to indulge in their famous Lobster Roll. The classic dish features perfectly cooked chunks of lobster meat heaped on a toasted bun and slathered in butter. Although hundreds of miles from the shores of Maine, one bite of the Graffam Bros. Lobster Roll will transport your taste buds to the coast.

Next up, Guy heads to the west coast to check out a seafood institution in Seattle, Washington: Duke's Chowder House. Guy meets up with Duke himself to try their famous Clam Chowder, which won HQ Trivia's Best Chowder in America award. Duke's recipe, filled with tender clams and smoky bacon, has been perfected over the years and is a well-kept secret. Guy dives in with a spoon and can't help but exclaim, "That is the best clam chowder I have ever had!"

The episode also features unique seafood dishes from across the country. In Portland, Maine, Guy tries out Eventide Oyster Co.'s Lobster Stew, a rich and creamy dish with the perfect balance of fresh lobster and house-made sourdough croutons. In Minneapolis, Minnesota, Guy checks out Smack Shack, a lobster-centric seafood spot, where he indulges in a Lobster Corn Dog. The dish, a twist on the classic fair food, features juicy lobster on a stick, dipped in cornmeal batter and deep-fried to crispy perfection.

Another highlight of the episode is the Hawaiian-style Poke Bowl Guy finds in Pearl City, Hawaii. Poke bowls have exploded in popularity across the U.S. in recent years, but the folks at Nico's Pier 38 have been perfecting their recipe for years. The dish features soft, fresh cubes of ahi tuna marinated in a mix of soy sauce, sesame oil, and green onions served atop a bed of white rice. The bowl is finished with a variety of toppings like avocado, seaweed, and spicy mayo.

Triple D Nation's "From the Sea" is a mouthwatering showcase of some of the best seafood dishes across the country. From classic lobster rolls to unique twists on classic favorites, the episode is guaranteed to leave viewers craving a taste of the ocean. Guy's enthusiasm for each dish is infectious, and his ability to showcase the history and cultural significance of each restaurant only adds to the enjoyment.
