Triple D Nation Season 1 Episode 15 Steak, Sausage and Salami

  • February 1, 2019

Triple D Nation is back with its fifteenth episode of the first season, titled Steak, Sausage, and Salami. Hosted by Guy Fieri, this episode takes viewers on a journey of mouth-watering meat dishes from some of the most renowned eateries visited on previous seasons of Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives.

The show kicks off with a visit to the Black Sheep Cafe in Provo, Utah. The cafe is famous for its unique take on steak with the Ribeye Poutine that has a layer of piping hot fries drenched in gravy and crowned with cheese curds and tender ribeye stacked over it. Guy reminisces the moment when his taste buds were transported to another level by this gastronomic masterpiece.

Next up on the menu is the Italian Sausage sandwich from Ralph's Italian Deli in Los Angeles, California. The sandwich is a mouthful of flavors - roasted peppers, juicy onions, and tangy marinara tenderly married to a loaded Italian sausage on a freshly baked roll. Guy enjoys the sandwich while admiring the family-like atmosphere of Ralph's.

The third stop is at El Mercado in Santa Fe, New Mexico, to try the famous El Torito sausage. Made from venison, elk, and pork, it is an explosion of flavor that leaves an unforgettable impression on the taste buds. Guy chats with the owner and learns that the sausage recipe has been handed down for generations.

In Houston, Texas, Guy heads to The Pit Room for its sausage sandwich, smothered in house-made marmalade and topped with coleslaw. The Pit Room takes their barbecue very seriously, and it shows in every dish they serve. The meat is melt-in-your-mouth tender and juicy, and the sandwich is an absolute game-changer.

The episode takes a crunchy turn with the next stop at Portland's Olympia Provisions. Olympia Provisions is a European-style charcuterie that has gained a cult following for its artisanal cured meats. Guy savors their Italian Dry Salami, which is aged to perfection with a robust flavor profile that is impossible to forget.

In Minneapolis, Minnesota, Guy visits Pizzeria Lola to indulge in their Korean BBQ sausages. The sausages are a perfect combination of sweet and spicy, with the right amount of crunch to them. Guy also admires the pizzeria's cozy and welcoming ambiance.

The Penrose Diner in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is the next stop, where Guy samples the Philly-style scrapple, a breakfast staple in the region. The dish is made from pork scraps, cornmeal, and spices. Guy loves how the scrapple is charring in some areas, adding a new layer of texture.

The last stop in this meaty episode is Langer's Deli in Los Angeles. Famous for its #19 sandwich, Langer's is serving up pastrami packed with layers of flavor. The sandwich has been a staple on the menu for over 60 years and counts everyone from presidents to regulars as fans. Guy is in awe of the traditional recipe that keeps the Langer's experience alive.

With this episode, Triple D Nation delivers the perfect meat-lover's treat. From steak to sausage to salami, the episode is a meaty masterpiece that is sure to leave viewers feeling hungry.
