Seattle is known for its coffee and seafood, but it's also home to some of the most unique sweets in the country. In this episode of Unique Sweets, host Zac Young takes us on a tour of some of the city's most innovative dessert spots.

First up is Hot Cakes Molten Chocolate Cakery, where they specialize in - you guessed it - molten chocolate cakes. But these aren't just any old chocolate cakes. Hot Cakes uses only the best, locally-sourced ingredients to craft their decadent desserts. Zac tries the classic molten chocolate cake, as well as a seasonal pumpkin variation that will make your mouth water.

Next, Zac visits the Arctic Club Hotel's Juno restaurant, which has a dessert menu that's sure to impress. Chef Shota Nakajima creates unique desserts that blend traditional Japanese flavors with modern techniques. Zac tries the Kabe La D, a chocolate mousse with green tea cake and black sesame ice cream. The dish is beautifully presented, and the combination of flavors is out of this world.

Zac then heads to the Fremont neighborhood to visit Pie, the brainchild of pastry chef Jess Boncutter. Pie isn't your average pie shop - they offer a rotating selection of sweet and savory pies that are made from scratch daily. Zac tries the "Crack" pie, a salty-sweet masterpiece made with oatmeal cookie crust and a filling that includes brown sugar, cream, and butter. It's no wonder why people are addicted to this pie!

Next on the tour is Dahlia Bakery, the creation of beloved Seattle chef Tom Douglas. Dahlia has been around since 1992, and they're known for their classic American desserts with a Pacific Northwest twist. Zac tries the triple coconut cream pie, a heavenly creation that's filled with coconut custard, coconut whipped cream, and topped with toasted coconut flakes.

Zac then heads to Capitol Hill to visit Hello Robin, a cookie shop with a cult following. Robin Wehl Martin, the founder of Hello Robin, is a cookie genius - she offers a rotating selection of cookies that are all made with high-quality, local ingredients. Zac tries the Mackles'more cookie, a s'mores-inspired treat that's made with homemade cinnamon graham crackers, marshmallows, and chocolate. This cookie is so good, you'll want to order a dozen!

Last but not least, Zac heads to the Fortune Cookie Factory in Chinatown-International District. The factory has been around since 1914, and they're known for their handmade fortune cookies. Zac gets a behind-the-scenes look at how the cookies are made, and he even gets to write his own fortune. This is a unique, fun way to end his Seattle sweets tour.

Overall, this episode of Unique Sweets showcases Seattle's diverse dessert scene. From molten chocolate cakes to homemade fortune cookies, Seattle has a dessert for everyone.
