Just when things seem hopeless, Ushio's father shows him a letter from his ancestors stating that the Beast Spear can only be wielded by someone who has a strong enough heart and fighting spirit. Ushio takes the challenge and uses the Beast Spear to fight Tora once again. This time, he is able to hold his own against the demon thanks to his belief in the power of the Beast Spear.
Despite Ushio's success in the battle, Tora refuses to be defeated and unleashes his full power. The episode ends on an intense cliffhanger as Ushio faces the terrifying demon, unsure if he will be able to win.
