Welcome Back, Kotter season 2 episode 8 is named Sadie Hawkins Day. The show revolves around a high school teacher named Gabe Kotter, who returns to his alma mater to teach a class of underprivileged students known as the Sweathogs.

The episode starts with the Sweathogs discussing how much they hate school dances, especially the traditional Sadie Hawkins Day dance where girls are expected to ask boys out instead of the other way around. But despite their complaints, the Sweathogs are still excited about the prospect of getting asked out by girls.

Meanwhile, Kotter is dealing with some of his own issues as he finds out that his childhood sweetheart Lydia is coming to visit him. Lydia happens to be the daughter of a wealthy family and is a successful lawyer herself. Kotter starts to feel insecure about whether he can measure up to her expectations and starts to doubt himself.

As the Sadie Hawkins Day dance approaches, the Sweathogs are busy trying to find dates. Epstein, one of the students, has his eye on a girl named Bambi, but has trouble summoning up the courage to ask her out. Washington, another student, wants to ask a girl named Sylvia but isn't sure if she will say yes.

Meanwhile, Kotter is trying to impress Lydia by pretending to be something he's not. He starts dressing up in fancy clothes and changing his speech to sound more sophisticated. But he soon realizes that he's not being true to himself and decides to be honest with Lydia about who he really is.

At the Sadie Hawkins Day dance, the Sweathogs are surprised when more girls than they expected show up to ask them out. Epstein finally gathers the courage to ask out Bambi and Washington is thrilled when Sylvia agrees to go with him. The dance is going well until Kotter shows up with Lydia, dressed in his fancy clothes and speaking in his faux-sophisticated manner. The Sweathogs are confused and shocked by his behavior.

Kotter soon realizes that he's made a mistake by pretending to be someone he's not and decides to change back to his old self. Lydia accepts him for who he is and they have a heart-to-heart conversation about their relationship. Meanwhile, the Sweathogs and their dates are having a great time dancing and laughing together.

In the end, Kotter realizes that his students are the ones who have taught him a lesson about being true to oneself. He decides to be himself around Lydia and feels much more confident as a result. The episode ends with the Sweathogs and their dates leaving the dance, happy and content.

Overall, Sadie Hawkins Day is a heartwarming episode that explores the themes of self-acceptance and being true to oneself. The characters are relatable and the storyline is engaging, making it a great watch for fans of the show.
