In season 7, episode 3 of Wicked Tuna titled "Merch Madness", the competition among the fishermen heats up as they scramble to catch as much fish as possible in the limited time available.
Captain Dave Marciano and his crew on the Hard Merchandise head out to the Gulf of Maine in search of their first big catch of the season. Dave is optimistic that he will be able to beat his competitors this season, but the task is easier said than done. The fish are not biting easily, and the crew is growing increasingly frustrated.
Meanwhile, Captain TJ Ott and his crew on the Hot Tuna are struggling to keep their morale up. TJ is under a lot of pressure to bring in a big catch, but the fish aren't cooperating. They manage to catch a small bluefin tuna but it's not nearly enough to meet their quota.
In a bid to turn their fortunes around, the Hot Tuna crew decides to change their strategy and fish in a new location. They move to a spot further out to sea, where they hope to find a school of fish that no one else has discovered yet.
Captain Tyler McLaughlin and his crew on the Pinwheel are also having a tough time. They have yet to catch a tuna this season, and Tyler is feeling the pressure. He decides to take a huge risk and fish in an area where he thinks there might be a school of large tuna. The gamble pays off, and the crew manages to catch a 400-pound bluefin tuna.
Meanwhile, Captain Paul Hebert on the Wicked Pissah is hoping to maintain his early season lead. He and his crew are off to a strong start, having already caught several tuna, but they know they can't rest on their laurels. They are constantly on the lookout for new opportunities and are willing to take risks to get ahead.
As the episode unfolds, the tension mounts as each crew tries to outdo the others. The competition is fierce, and every fish counts. Frustrations and tempers run high as the fishermen jostle for position, each determined to come out on top.
In the end, it is a race against time as the fishermen vie to catch as much fish as possible before the season ends. With only a few weeks left, the stakes are high, and the competition is more intense than ever before. Who will win the battle for the biggest catch? Tune in to find out.
