Without A Trace follows the high-stress job of the FBI's Missing Persons Unit. In the premiere episode of season 5, the team works to locate a woman who disappeared from her home. As they investigate, they discover a complicated network of relationships and a potential motive for the victim's disappearance.

In episode 3, titled "911," the team is called in to investigate the disappearance of a 911 operator named Kari Conroy. Kari was on duty when she received a call from a woman claiming that her husband had assaulted her. Kari recorded the call and dispatched police to the woman's location. Throughout the episode, tensions run high as the team races against the clock to find Kari and uncover the truth behind the anonymous calls. The episode ends with a surprising twist that leaves viewers on the edge of their seats and eager to see what happens next.
