The movie called Salt stars Angelina Jolie, and she plays the role of an American named Evelyn Salt. Her character gets in imprisoned in North Korea because they think she is spying on them. She is lucky to get released in a prison exchange, and she then visits with a CIA colleague named Ted Winter (played by Liev Schreiber). She is puzzled as to why she gets freed because the CIA does not usually do that. The answer lies in the fact that her boyfriend, Michael Kruause, has been the CIA act on her behalf.
Salt then confirms she is a spy, and no body is safe with her. Her boyfriend still wants to spend the rest of his life with her. Two years after this, the Russian defector named Oleg Vasilyevich Orlov comes to the CIA office, and he gets interrogated by Salt and Winter. This is when we find out by "Day X;" it is a plan to destroy the United States with sleep agents. When the American Vice President gets buried at his funeral service, Salt is to kill Russian President Boris Matveyev. Salt says she wouldn't do that, and she tries to call her husband to proclaim innocence.
Salt gets detained by the authorities but she escapes and goes to her house. She believes that Michael has been kidnapped and takes their weapons in a mission to find him. She is able to escape from the CIA several times in the film, and she check's into a NYC hotel room. She gets venom out of a spider, and goes to the church of the funeral. Despite tight security, she is able to charge the alter during the eulogy. Matveyev falls through the floor, and this sets up her plan to murder him. Peabody stops her from going through with it, but the media claim the Russian President has died.
Salt begins to have flashbacks of growing up in the Soviet Union, and remembers that Orlov trained her to obey him as a sleeper agent. He stills if she is in fact loyal by murdering Michael in front of her, and she doesn't care. Orlov then begins on her on her next mission. That is to kill the American president. Salt doesn't want to do it so she kills Orlov and his sleeper agents. You will have to see the movie to see how it ends! Shnaider helps sneak Salt into the White House, and she does a suicidal attack. There are plenty of twists and turns throughout the film.
