Ep 10. Thanksgiving

Jake Peralta and his colleagues at the 99th precinct get ready for the Thanksgiving holiday in their own hilarious ways in season 1 episode 10 of Brooklyn Nine-Nine.

As the holiday approaches, Jake invites his recently discovered half-sister, Katie (guest star Nasim Pedrad), to join the squad for Thanksgiving dinner. However, there's a catch: his colleagues are not great at socializing and making newcomers feel comfortable, especially given that Detective Boyle will be cooking the turkey and has no idea what he's doing.

Meanwhile, Captain Holt has to decide between three invitations: one from his husband Kevin, one from his nephew's "gender reveal" party, and another from his co-worker Rosa. He turns to Terry Jeffords for advice on how to avoid hurting anyone's feelings but ultimately decides to attend the party that Rosa invited him to.

Back at the precinct, Terry and Gina volunteer to help Boyle with cooking the turkey. As they attempt to make the bird presentable, chaos ensues in the kitchen.

As they wait for the turkey to cook, the group engages in some pre-dinner football on the roof, during which Detective Hitchcock has an unfortunate accident, leading to some comedic relief.

When Katie finally arrives, the team does their best to make her feel welcome, but things go awry when Charles accidentally sends her a text meant for a secret lover. This leads to some hilarious back and forth as Charles tries to cover up his mistake.

As they sit down to eat, tensions should be high, but the team comes together over their love for food and friendship. Even as Boyle's turkey turns out to be a disaster, everyone is happy to dig in and enjoy themselves.

As the night comes to a close, the team reflects on what they're thankful for, with even the stoic Captain Holt admitting that he's grateful for his squad.
