Jake Peralta is a hard-boiled detective in the 99th precinct of the NYPD. He loves his job, but he also loves living his life. This makes it difficult for him to stay focused on anything for long, which is why his colleagues often call him a "man-child". However, when he is tasked with investigating a burglary at a high-end apartment building, he has to put his impulsivity aside and get serious.

The episode begins with Jake and his partner, Detective Terry Jeffords, heading to the apartment building in question. When they arrive, they find that the apartment has been ransacked and the owner, Charlie, is nowhere to be found. Jake immediately jumps into action, searching for clues and interviewing the other residents of the building. Meanwhile, Terry is left to deal with Jake's new neighbor, Gina, who has moved into the building and is making a lot of noise.

As the investigation progresses, Jake becomes frustrated with the lack of progress. He can't seem to find any solid leads and is getting nowhere fast. That is until he finds out that Charlie is a drug dealer and that the burglary may be related to his criminal activities. Armed with this new information, Jake begins to piece together the evidence and slowly but surely, the pieces of the puzzle start to fall into place.

Throughout the investigation, Jake and Terry are constantly interrupted by Gina, who is always coming and going from her apartment and making a lot of noise in the process. At first, Jake is annoyed by her, but as the two get to know each other better, he begins to see her in a different light. She's quirky, and a little bit weird, but she's also funny and smart, and Jake finds himself starting to like her.

Just when it looks like Jake is about to crack the case, he discovers that his new girlfriend, Sophia, is involved with Charlie and may even be responsible for the burglary. This revelation sends Jake into a tailspin, and he starts to question everything he thought he knew. Meanwhile, Terry is dealing with his own problems, as he tries to keep Gina quiet and under control.

In the end, Jake is able to solve the case and apprehend the criminals. However, he also has to deal with the fallout from his relationship with Sophia and figure out where he stands with Gina. The episode ends on a cliffhanger, with Jake realizing that he has some tough decisions to make in the near future.

Overall, The Apartment is a great episode of Brooklyn Nine-Nine that showcases the strengths of the show's ensemble cast. It's a funny, witty, and engaging episode that keeps you on the edge of your seat until the very end.
