The show Brooklyn Nine-Nine is a comedy police procedural series that revolves around the 99th precinct of the New York City Police Department (NYPD). The series showcases the daily lives of the officers and detectives of the precinct as they solve crimes and deal with their personal lives.

In Season 3 Episode 5, titled "Halloween III," the precinct is gearing up for their annual Halloween heist. The Halloween heist is a beloved tradition that started in Season 1, where the precinct detectives compete against each other to steal a crown that is hidden in the precinct. The detective who ends up with the crown at the end of the night is crowned the "Ultimate Detective Human/Genius."

This episode starts with Detective Jake Peralta (played by Andy Samberg) excitedly preparing for the Halloween heist. He believes that this year will finally be the year that he wins the title of "Ultimate Detective Human/Genius." Jake goes over his previous notes and strategies to ensure that he wins.

While Jake is gearing up for the heist, Captain Raymond Holt (played by Andre Braugher) informs everyone that he will not be participating in the heist this year as he believes he is above all the petty competitions. This announcement shocks everyone, as Holt is known for his competitive nature during the Halloween heists.

With the captain out of the competition, the rest of the detectives start planning their heist strategies. Amy Santiago (played by Melissa Fumero) decides to team up with Gina Linetti (played by Chelsea Peretti) to form a strong alliance. Rosa Diaz (played by Stephanie Beatriz) decides to team up with Terry Jeffords (played by Terry Crews), leaving Charles Boyle (played by Joe Lo Truglio) to team up with Hitchcock (played by Dirk Blocker) and Scully (played by Joel McKinnon Miller).

As the night progresses, the heist becomes more and more intense, with the detectives going to extreme lengths to outdo each other. The detectives use various techniques to steal the crown, such as disguises, hidden traps, and secret alliances. The heist even involves a chase scene on a rooftop as the detectives are trying to grab the crown.

While the detectives are busy with the heist, Sergeant Terry Jeffords is trying his best to avoid the competition. Terry is extremely superstitious, and he believes that his participation in the heist will bring bad luck to his family.

Meanwhile, Jake Peralta discovers that the crown has been stolen from the precinct, and he is shocked. He immediately informs the other detectives, and they decide to work together to find the thief and retrieve the crown.

As the detectives search for the thief, they discover some dark secrets about each other and their personal lives. The heist becomes less about winning and more about exposing each other's vulnerabilities.

The episode is full of hilarious moments and witty one-liners, showcasing the excellent comedy writing of the show. The cast's chemistry is also flawless, and their comedic timing is impeccable.

Overall, Brooklyn Nine-Nine Season 3 Episode 5, "Halloween III," is a hilarious and thrilling episode that showcases the show's unique blend of comedy and action. The episode does an excellent job of continuing the Halloween heist tradition while also providing insights into the characters' personalities and personal lives.
