In this episode of Cold Case Files, titled "The Well/The Deadly Ex," viewers are taken on a journey through two separate cases of murder and disappearance.

The first case centers around the mysterious disappearance of a 12-year-old girl named Robin Bishop in 1985. Despite extensive search efforts, her body was never found and her case went cold for over a decade. However, in 1996, a man named Richard Evonitz was arrested for a series of kidnappings and murders in Virginia and South Carolina. During his confession, he admitted to abducting Robin and taking her to a well at a construction site, where he sexually assaulted and strangled her before disposing of her body. Cold case detectives work tirelessly to gather evidence and ultimately bring justice for Robin's family.

The second case involves the murder of a young woman named Cindy James in 1989. Cindy had reported several incidents of harassment and attacks to the police, but they were unable to identify a suspect. Despite receiving threatening phone calls and finding notes and objects left on her property, Cindy refused to leave her home and continued to insist that she was not in danger. However, in June of 1989, Cindy's body was found in the yard of an abandoned house. She had been drugged, beaten, and strangled with her own stockings. Cold case detectives re-examine the evidence and interview witnesses to try to determine whether Cindy's ex-husband was involved in her death.

Throughout both cases, viewers are presented with interviews from family members, witnesses, and investigators who worked tirelessly to bring closure to these tragic events. The show highlights the challenges faced by cold case detectives and the importance of never giving up on seeking justice for victims and their loved ones.

Overall, "The Well/The Deadly Ex" is a gripping episode of Cold Case Files that sheds light on two unsolved cases of murder and disappearance. It showcases the dedication and perseverance of investigators, as well as the impact that these crimes have on the families and communities affected by them.
