Coupled was a reality dating show that premiered on Fox in May 2016. Hosted by television personality Terrence Jenkins, the show featured twelve single women who traveled to a luxurious resort in Anguilla in the Caribbean, looking for love and adventure. The women were introduced to eligible bachelors one at a time, who arrived on the island via helicopter. The twist, however, was that the men would arrive with an already established relationship. They were either single or coupled, but the women had no idea which was which.
Throughout the show, the women went on dates with the men and were given the opportunity to ask them questions to try to determine their relationship status. After each date, the women would gather and decide which men they were interested in continuing to get to know.
The men would then reveal their relationship status, leading the women to choose whether to continue pursuing them or to move on to someone else. If a woman was coupled up with a man, they could leave the island together and continue their relationship in the real world.
