Ep 9. Serious Sandwiches

In the 9th episode of the 14th season of Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, the focus is on Serious Sandwiches. Host Guy Fieri travels around the country in search of the best places to get a delicious sandwich.

The first stop is at a popular spot in New Orleans called Killer Po'Boys. Here, Guy tries their version of a classic po'boy sandwich, made with slow-roasted pork and a spicy, tangy sauce. Next up is a visit to a family-owned Italian deli in Las Vegas called Capriotti's Sandwich Shop. Guy samples their signature sandwich, called the Bobbie, which is made with turkey, cranberry sauce, stuffing, and mayo.

Further on in the episode, Guy heads over to Holy Roller in Austin, Texas, where they put their own unique spin on classic breakfast sandwiches. Guy tries a sandwich made with pork belly, cheese, and an over-easy egg on a homemade biscuit. He also stops by The Publican in Chicago, which specializes in open-faced sandwiches called tartines. Here, Guy tries a tartine topped with cured salmon, creme fraiche, and caviar.

One of the more unusual stops of the episode is at a place called Hometown Bar-B-Que in Brooklyn, New York, where they serve a sandwich called the Red Hook. This sandwich is made with smoked brisket, sausage, and cheese, all on a roll that's been soaked in beef fat.

The final stop on Guy's sandwich tour is at a popular food truck in Nashville called Biscuit Love. Here, Guy tries their version of a chicken and waffles sandwich, which is made with fried chicken, bacon, and a hard-boiled egg on a homemade biscuit.
