In New Orleans, Guy visits a sandwich shop that is located inside a gas station. Despite its unassuming location, this spot has gained a reputation for serving some of the best sandwiches in the city. Guy tries their "Hot Sausage Po' Boy," made with spicy sausage, grilled onions, and mustard on a crispy French roll.

The episode then takes viewers to a sandwich shop in Sacramento, California, that prides itself on using only locally sourced ingredients. Guy tries their "Porchetta" sandwich, which features slow-roasted pork belly, salsa verde, and arugula on a fresh ciabatta roll.

The final stop on Guy's sandwich tour is in Minneapolis, Minnesota, at a tiny shop that serves up some of the most creative sandwiches around. Guy tries their "Mac & Cheese" sandwich, which features homemade macaroni and cheese on buttered bread with crispy bacon and jalapenos.

Throughout the episode, Guy meets the passionate chefs and owners behind each sandwich shop, and learns how they are constantly innovating and reinventing the classic sandwich. "Between the Bread" is a celebration of the diversity and creativity in America's sandwich culture, and is sure to leave viewers hungry for more.
