Mike Rowe is back and he is ready to get his hands dirty again on the new episode of Dirty Jobs. In episode 9 of season 1, titled "Sludge Cleaner", Mike heads to a sewage treatment plant to see what it takes to clean the sludge out of the massive tanks that hold the waste.

Mike meets his guide for the day, Vincente, who works at the plant. Vincente has worked at the plant for over 20 years, and he takes pride in his job. Mike wastes no time in getting started, and he joins Vincente in the first of many tanks that need to be cleaned.

Mike quickly learns that there is no easy way to clean these tanks. It's a dirty and dangerous job, and the sludge is filled with all types of bacteria and viruses. He puts on his protective gear and jumps in, ready to get to work.

Mike soon discovers that the sludge is much thicker and heavier than he expected, and he struggles to move it around. With Vincente's help, he learns how to use the special tools to break it up and move it to the center of the tank, where it can be pumped out.

As they work, Mike and Vincente explain how the sewage treatment plant works, and the importance of cleaning the sludge out of the tanks. If the tanks aren't emptied regularly, the waste can build up and cause all kinds of problems, including the release of toxic gases and the possibility of overflow.

Mike feels the weight of the job, and he is determined to do his part to help keep the city's water supply safe and clean. But as the day wears on, Mike starts to feel the effects of the toxic sludge. He experiences headaches, nausea, and dizziness, and he realizes just how dangerous this job can be.

Despite the challenges, Mike perseveres and gets the job done. He and Vincente empty three tanks in total, and Mike is exhausted but proud of his work. He knows that the job is not for everyone, but it's an important one that helps keep the city running smoothly.

In the end, Mike reflects on the day's work and the people like Vincente who dedicate their lives to doing these dirty jobs. He realizes that even though the work is tough and often thankless, it's important and necessary.

This episode of Dirty Jobs gives viewers an inside look at the hard work that goes into keeping our cities and water supply clean. It's a dirty and dangerous job, but it's one that needs to be done. Mike Rowe and Vincente show us just how tough and important this work can be.
