Watch Jormungand

The Japanese manga Jormungand, which is also known as Yorumungando is an anime television series that was animated by White Fox, a relatively new studio formed in 2007. The plot revolves around Koko Hekmatyar. This character is a relatively young arms dealer who is employed by an international shipping company that is also engaged in the sale of arms. She is not officially on their payroll however she represents the corporation all over the world. As she travels the world in this capacity, she constantly has to evade the authorities and law enforcement in the countries to which she travels. The majority of Koko's work is in violation of international law and is characterized by a series of action packed escapades that involve their fair share of violence. Throughout her adventures, Koko is accompanied by a team of bodyguards, most of whom are former military personnel.

One of the other notable characters in the series is Jonah, a former child soldier. Jonah is a rather strange character who is outwardly very quiet. His past suggests that beneath this calm exterior, lies a much more tumultuous disposition. Jonah has a history mired in violence. He lost his family during the course of conflicts that were fueled by international arms dealers and this contributes to his passionate hatred for arms dealers. Herein lies a contradiction that is worth noting because, in spite of his hatred for arms dealing and those involved in it, he is, for all intents and purposes, a participant in the trade. He is extremely skilled in combat and employs these skills extremely well as an asset to Koko Hekmatyar and her group of mercenaries.

The anime series is produced by Geneon Universal Entertainment Japan, LLC. The series is available on DVD and Blu-Ray and the show was initially released in these formats in June of 2012. This release included Gun Metal, Calico Road and Pulsar, the first two episodes. Following this first release, there were subsequent releases on DVD and Blu-Ray. Each release contains two episodes in it. These subsequent releases occurred in August and September of 2012.
