The Sitter is a heartwarming television movie from Lifetime that was first released on November 4, 2007. The movie tells the story of a single mother, Angie, and her two children, Chloe and Jacob. Angie's husband passed away a few years ago, and Angie has been struggling to make ends meet ever since. In need of some extra money, she decides to take on a job as a part-time housekeeper. As she cleans the home of a wealthy family, the Boston family, she is offered a job as a babysitter for their three children. Angie accepts the job, thinking that it will be an easy way to make some extra money.

However, she is quickly thrown into a world of chaos as she tries to manage not just the three Boston children, but her own two children as well. The oldest of the Boston kids, Mark, is a rebellious teenager who has no respect for Angie or anyone else. The middle child, Taylor, is a sweet and caring girl who has trouble speaking due to a traumatic experience from her past. The youngest, Trey, is an energetic and mischievous boy who is always getting into trouble.

Throughout the movie, Angie tries her best to balance the needs of all five children while dealing with her own personal struggles. She faces a number of challenges, including a run-in with Mark's drug-addicted friends, a discovery about Taylor's past, and a difficult confrontation with her own son, Jacob. Despite all of these obstacles, Angie remains determined to provide the best possible care for all of the children in her charge.

The Sitter is a touching movie that explores themes of family, love, and forgiveness. It showcases the strength and resilience of a single mother who is doing everything she can to provide for her family, even in the face of immense challenges. The movie also highlights the importance of communication and understanding in building strong relationships, both within families and between families and their caretakers.

One of the standout elements of The Sitter is the excellent performances given by the cast. Gail O'Grady delivers a powerful and emotive performance as Angie, bringing depth and nuance to the character. She perfectly captures the complex mix of strength and vulnerability that defines a single mother trying to make it in the world. Meanwhile, all three of the child actors - Tori Spelling, James Immekus, and Valerie Azlynn - bring their characters to life with charm and authenticity.

Another major strength of The Sitter is its ability to balance moments of comedy with more serious, emotionally resonant scenes. The movie is surprisingly funny at times, with a number of humorous moments stemming from the chaotic interactions between the five children. However, there are also scenes that are deeply touching and poignant, particularly those that explore the trauma that Taylor has experienced in her past. The movie manages to strike a careful balance between these different tones, resulting in a satisfying viewing experience that will keep audiences engaged from beginning to end.

All in all, The Sitter is a well-crafted and emotionally resonant movie that explores themes of family, love, and forgiveness in a touching and thought-provoking way. Its excellent performances, balanced tone, and heartfelt storytelling make it a must-see for fans of Lifetime movies and fans of heartwarming dramas in general. So, if you want to watch a heartwarming drama that will make you feel good, then The Sitter is a perfect choice for you.
