Any Human Heart

"Any Human Heart" is a TV drama that originally aired in the United Kingdom. It was adapted from William Boyd's novel of the same name. It follows the life of Logan Mountstuart (Jim Broadbent) from his younger years to his old age. Mountstuart believes no one stays the same. Instead, he believes we change so much that we should say each of us lives more than one life. This is certainly true of how Mountstuart lived his life. His life reflects the diverse times and places that he lived in and visited. He visited and lived in such diverse places as Paris, New York, and London. Mountstuart's life spans from the 1920s to the 1980s. He was a war correspondent, spy, and a prisoner of war. He's a family man who marries and remarries.

He meets Ernest Hemingway and drinks absinthe with him. He also meets Ian Fleming, an English naval intelligence officer and the author of the James Bond book series. He also meets the Duke of Windsor (Tom Hollander) after the Duke abdicated the British throne to marry his mistress, Wallis Simpson (Gillian Anderson).
