In Army Wives season 3 episode 9, entitled "Coming Home," we follow the lives of four women whose husbands serve in the army. These women include Denise Sherwood, Claudia Joy Holden, Pamela Moran, and Roxy LeBlanc.

Denise Sherwood is a nurse who is married to a major in the army. She is currently struggling with her husband's deployment as well as her son's decision to enlist. Claudia Joy Holden is the wife of a colonel and is the president of the base's Officer's Wives Club. She is dealing with the prospect of her husband being promoted to general, which would involve a move to Washington D.C. Pamela Moran is a former police officer who has a son with special needs. She is struggling with the lack of support given to military families with special needs children. Finally, Roxy LeBlanc is a young mother who has married a soldier after a whirlwind romance. She is pregnant with their second child and is worried about his safety while he is deployed.

In this episode, the women are all anticipating their husbands' return from deployment. Denise is especially excited, as her husband has been away for fifteen months. She is busy preparing for his return, cleaning the house and cooking his favorite meals. Claudia Joy is also excited to have her husband back, but is worried about the potential move to Washington D.C. She is busy trying to convince her husband to turn down the promotion.

Pamela, meanwhile, is struggling with the lack of support for military families with special needs children. She meets with a representative from the Army's Exceptional Family Member Program, but is left feeling frustrated by the bureaucracy and lack of resources. Roxy, on the other hand, is struggling with her own fears and anxieties. She is worried about raising a second child on her own while her husband is deployed.

As the episode progresses, we see the women coping with various challenges. Denise's husband is struggling with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), which puts a strain on their relationship. Claudia Joy's husband is offered the promotion to general, leaving her torn between her desire to support him and her reluctance to move to Washington D.C. Pamela's son's condition worsens, further complicating her life. And Roxy must deal with the reality of her husband's deployment, as she struggles to balance her own needs with those of her family.

Ultimately, each woman must confront her own fears and insecurities in order to move forward. Denise must learn to live with her husband's PTSD, Claudia Joy must decide whether to support her husband's career aspirations, Pamela must find a way to access resources for her special needs child, and Roxy must come to terms with the realities of military life.

"Coming Home" is a poignant and emotional episode that offers a glimpse into the challenges faced by military families. While each woman's story is unique, they all share a common bond: the love and support they offer each other as they navigate the ups and downs of military life. Whether dealing with deployments, PTSD, special needs children, or career aspirations, these women demonstrate strength, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to their families.
