In Army Wives season 4 episode 7, titled "Heavy Losses", the military wives struggle with the aftermath of a tragic event as they try to come to terms with what has happened. The episode starts off with Claudia Joy (played by Kim Delaney) and Michael Holden (played by Brian McNamara) receiving devastating news about their son Jeremy (played by Richard Bryant) who is serving in Iraq. They receive a phone call informing them that their son has been critically injured in combat and he is being airlifted to Germany for medical treatment.

Meanwhile, Denise Sherwood (played by Catherine Bell) is still reeling from the recent revelations about her husband Frank (played by Terry Serpico), who has been having an affair with a fellow officer's wife. She tries to cope with the betrayal as she prepares for the arrival of her husband's daughter whom she has never met before.

Roxy (played by Sally Pressman), the newest member of the group, is struggling to come to terms with the reality of what it means to be a military spouse. She is feeling powerless and at a loss as to what to do after one of her husband's friends is killed in combat. She is forced to confront the harsh reality of war and the danger that her husband and his comrades face every day.

Pamela (played by Brigid Brannagh) is dealing with her own set of problems as she tries to help a soldier with PTSD who is struggling to readjust to civilian life. She must navigate the veteran's complex emotional state while trying to convince him to seek help.

Finally, Roland Burton (played by Sterling K. Brown) and Joan Burton (played by Wendy Davis) are balancing their military careers with their growing family. Joan is offered a promotion that would require her to move to a new base, which puts a strain on their marriage as Roland is reluctant to leave his job and uproot their family.

Throughout the episode, the women lean on each other for support as they navigate the challenges of being a military spouse. They share their fears, frustrations, and grief as they try to make sense of the events unfolding around them. Despite the heavy losses they have suffered, they show resilience and strength in the face of adversity.
