Ep 6. Blurred Vision - Dream or Reality?

In Beastars season 1 episode 6, titled "Blurred Vision - Dream or Reality?", the plot thickens with the introduction of a new character, Juno, who has her sights set on becoming the next Beastar. Meanwhile, Legoshi is still trying to wrap his head around the fact that he may be in love with Haru, a small white dwarf rabbit and fellow student at Cherryton Academy.

In a way, this exchange sets up a dynamic that will be echoed throughout the episode, as Legoshi struggles with his own feelings of inadequacy and tries to figure out whether he's dreaming or living in reality.

Next, we see Legoshi and Haru spending time together in the greenhouse where she works. He's clearly smitten with her, but they're both awkward and unsure of how to move forward. As they talk, Legoshi reveals that he's been having trouble sleeping since the incident where he almost ate her, and Haru suggests that he talk to someone about it. She also reveals that she's been talking to Louis, which makes Legoshi feel jealous and insecure.

From there, the episode takes a turn into some pretty heavy emotional territory. Legoshi's dream sequences become more and more vivid, as he confronts his own predatory instincts and tries to come to terms with what he's feeling for Haru. At one point, he has a nightmare where he almost attacks a small white rabbit, and wakes up in a panic. Later, he has a waking dream where he imagines Haru having sex with Louis, which sends him into a spiral of depression and self-doubt.

Meanwhile, Juno keeps making her presence known, trying to get into Louis' good graces and win the title of Beastar. She flirts shamelessly with him and even attempts to steal the limelight from him during a performance of the school drama. All the while, though, the viewer can sense that there's something off about Juno, something in her eyes that suggests she's not as confident as she seems.

In the final scene of "Blurred Vision," Legoshi and Haru cross paths in the hallway and have a brief conversation that leaves both of them feeling confused and frustrated. Haru reveals that she's not sure what she wants from Legoshi, but that she does know she wants something. Legoshi, in turn, confesses that he's been struggling with his own feelings for her, and tells her that he's not sure if what he's feeling is real or just a figment of his imagination.

Overall, "Blurred Vision - Dream or Reality?" is a deep and thought-provoking episode that tackles some heavy themes in a powerful and memorable way. The writing is sharp and insightful, the pacing is strong, and the animation and voice acting are top-notch.
