Ep 9. Into the Lion's Den

In Beastars Season 1 Episode 9, entitled "Into the Lion's Den," the tensions between the carnivores and herbivores continue to escalate. After Louis, a prominent member of the herbivore community, goes missing, rumors that he was eaten by a carnivore begin to circulate. Haru, a small herbivore who has gained a reputation for being promiscuous, is also missing, and everyone suspects that she has been taken by a carnivore. Legoshi, a shy and introverted gray wolf, is determined to find Haru and clear the name of carnivores everywhere.

Legoshi uses his heightened sense of smell to track down Haru's scent, and he ends up in the territory of the Shishigumi, a notorious group of carnivores. They are led by a powerful lion named Ibuki, who is feared and respected by all who know him. Legoshi sneaks into their hideout and finds Haru, who is being held captive. He manages to escape with her, but they are quickly pursued by the Shishigumi.

As they make their way through the city, Legoshi and Haru have a heart-to-heart conversation about their respective worlds. Haru is surprised to learn that Legoshi is a carnivore, which she never would have guessed by his gentle demeanor. Legoshi, on the other hand, is shocked to learn that Haru has slept with multiple partners, which he finds hard to reconcile with his desire to protect her.

The chase comes to a head on a bridge, where Legoshi and Ibuki face off in a battle of strength. Legoshi is determined to prove that carnivores and herbivores can coexist peacefully, while Ibuki sees Legoshi as a threat to the Shishigumi's way of life. The two engage in a brutal fight, but ultimately Legoshi emerges victorious.

As Legoshi and Haru make their way back to safety, they are both changed by their experiences. Haru realizes that not all carnivores are monsters, while Legoshi learns that the world is more complicated than he had ever imagined. The future of carnivores and herbivores hangs in the balance, but one thing is clear: the divide between the two groups is deeper than anyone realized.
