Bizarre Foods: Delicious Destinations is back for its eighth season, and this time around, host Andrew Zimmern is taking viewers to some of the most unique and exciting food destinations on the planet. In season 8 episode 5, Zimmern is exploring Nova Scotia, Canada, and the incredible culinary delights that can be found in this beautiful part of the world.

Nova Scotia is a province that is known for its stunning natural beauty, its rich history, and its thriving fishing industry. In this episode, Zimmern is eager to dive into all of these aspects of Nova Scotia's culture as he explores the food scene here. He begins his journey in Halifax, the capital city of the province and a major hub for both Canadian and international cuisine.

One of the first things on Zimmern's list is to try the local seafood, and he wastes no time in getting down to business. He visits the Halifax Seaport Farmers' Market, where he samples fresh lobster rolls and crab cakes, both made with locally sourced seafood. He also gets a taste of fresh oysters, which are harvested from the ocean just hours before they make their way to the market. The seafood in Nova Scotia is truly some of the best in the world, and Zimmern is clearly impressed with what he finds here.

As Zimmern continues his journey, he pays a visit to some of the outlying areas of the province, including Lunenburg, a small town that is known for its shipbuilding heritage. Here, he gets a taste of traditional Acadian cuisine, which is a mix of French and Canadian influences. He tries some classic dishes like poutine rapee, a potato dumpling that is boiled and then fried, and rappie pie, which is made with grated potatoes and meat.

Other stops on Zimmern's tour of Nova Scotia include Wolfville, which is part of the Annapolis Valley and is known for its wine production, and Cape Breton Island, an area that is popular with tourists and features some truly breathtaking scenery. Along the way, Zimmern continues to sample different dishes, including blueberry grunt (a dessert made with stewed blueberries and dumplings), hodgepodge (a traditional stew made with fresh vegetables and seafood), and smoked salmon.

Throughout the episode, Zimmern is clearly thrilled to be exploring Nova Scotia and all of the culinary delights that this province has to offer. He talks to local chefs and food producers, learning about their unique approaches to cooking and the ingredients that are so important to their cuisine. By the end of the episode, viewers will have a newfound appreciation for this beautiful part of Canada and the incredible culinary scene that can be found here. From fresh seafood to traditional Acadian dishes to the many other flavors and ingredients that make up the cuisine of Nova Scotia, this is definitely an episode of Bizarre Foods: Delicious Destinations that foodies won't want to miss.
