On this exciting episode of Bizarre Foods With Andrew Zimmern, viewers are taken on a journey through the Yukon Gold Rush Trail, an area where gold fever spawned a rush of prospectors looking to strike it rich. Andrew immerses himself in the region's history and culture, and discovers a whole new world of unique and unusual foods.

The episode begins with Andrew exploring the town of Whitehorse, the capital of the Yukon Territory. He meets a local chef who introduces him to the traditional First Nations dish of smoked salmon that's been freshly caught from the nearby river.

Next, Andrew heads to Carcross, a small town that was once a hub of gold mining activity. Here, he comes face to face with the famous "Sourtoe Cocktail", a drink made with a real human toe. Andrew can hardly believe his eyes, but he's game to try it. The drink is served with a shot of whiskey and the toe is supposed to touch your lips before drinking. It's certainly a bizarre experience that Andrew won't forget anytime soon.

As Andrew continues on the trail, he stops by the Mining Museum in Tagish and chats with the curator, who shows him some fascinating artifacts, including a leather food warmer that was used by gold miners to keep their food hot. Andrew marvels at the ingenuity of these miners and their ability to adapt to the harsh conditions of the north.

Further along the trail, Andrew visits a gold mine that's been in operation for over a century. He gets the chance to go deep underground to witness the hard work that goes into extracting gold from the earth. Andrew also speaks to some of the miners who have worked in the industry for decades and learns about the challenges they face in a job with such inherent risks.

Andrew also meets with a couple who live off the grid in the wilderness near Dawson City. They show him how to catch and cook fresh trout, and Andrew is amazed at the way they use every part of the fish, leaving nothing to waste. The couple also introduces Andrew to "bannock", a traditional bread made from flour, water, and lard. It's a staple food in the Yukon and is especially important for those living off the grid.

Finally, Andrew reaches the end of the trail, arriving at the infamous Dawson City. This was the center of the Yukon Gold Rush and is now famous for its saloons and casinos. Andrew samples some of the unique food and drinks on offer, including "sour toe" beer, which is served with the same human toe used in the Sourtoe Cocktail.

Overall, this episode of Bizarre Foods With Andrew Zimmern is packed with adventure, history, and delicious food. Viewers will be left amazed at the unique flavors and experiences that can be found along the Yukon Gold Rush Trail.
