Ep 7. Defense and Upgrades

Tomori has been able to adopt and adapt to the gameplay in NewWorld Online, bridging many of the tough obstacles of the game effortlessly. Season 1 Episode 7, titled "Defense and Upgrades," Maple has consolidated an appreciation for defense, and in this episode, she's looking to upgrade her weapon and shield in order to push her strength levels higher.

Maple has her sights set on a rare material called "rock shell," yet to unveil its whereabouts, Maple, Sally, and Kuromu hit the streets and begin their search. While out investigating, they stumble upon Payne, a ninja character in the game. Sally has been seeking to become the best ninja in the game, and Payne is the one character who can grant her that distinction. Payne requests that Sally learn the technique of "Shadow Step," and in return, he will assist them in discovering the location of the rock shell.

Meanwhile, Maple travels to the blacksmith to learn more about the upgrade work required to boost her weapon's potency. It's here that it is revealed that the skill 'Galactic Portal' is required to unlock the potential of the rock shell, leaving Maple no other choice but to wait for Sally to complete her training. Upon doing this, they will acquire not only the rock shell, but also the final ingredient required for the upgrade of Maple's weapon - Lizard Shield Tail.

With the team's sights now set firmly on obtaining the necessary components, Sally trains away under the careful tutelage of Payne, eventually gaining the ability to 'Shadow Step.' With this new skill in her arsenal, they set off to secure the rock shell, only to find themselves in a dispute with a infamous team intent on securing the resource for themselves.

As the plan is now set in motion, Maple must gather all of her defensive skills to protect Sally and Kuromu from assault, enabling Sally to acquire and transport the rock shell safely to the blacksmith's. With the rock shell in hand, Maple must now risk everything to obtain the final component - Lizard Shield Tail, something only found out in the open world.

BOFURI: I Don't Want to Get Hurt, so I'll Max Out My Defense. Season 1 Episode 7 showcases not only Maple’s determination to become the best player in the game, but it also establishes her strength in the arena of gameplay. The addition of new characters and background strengthens the storyline to give viewers an added sense of excitement and anticipation for what comes next.
