Ep 7. Virtual Bride

Ryouta Sakamoto has been transported into a real-life version of the video game, BTOOOM!, where the only way to leave is to win. In episode 7, titled ‘Virtual Bride,’ Ryouta gets closer to his ultimate goal - getting off the island - as he teams up with Himiko and they continue their search for the mysterious Green Crystal.

The episode begins with a flashback to Himiko before she was transported to the island. We see her at a wedding ceremony, where she is serving as a bridesmaid. It is clear from her expressions that she is unhappy, and as the wedding goes on, she sees Ryouta's face instead of the groom's. This interesting scene reveals more about Himiko's character and suggests there is a deeper backstory to her.

Flash forward to the present, and Ryouta is excited to hear that he and Himiko are close to the Green Crystal when they discover an abandoned research facility in the woods. Scene by scene the two go deeper into the facility and encounter traps set up by the other players.

Soon they realize the facility was used for the testing of a new advanced VR technology. After testing it out, they learn that the technology has the potential to transport people off the island. However, to do so, they must reach the highest level of the game and defeat the final boss. Knowing this new information, the duo is more motivated than ever to find the crystal and complete the game.

In a separate scene, we see other players searching for the Green Crystal as well. Two players encounter each other, and they recognize each other from the outside world. It is interesting because both players reveal a dark side to their personality, and it shows how the game has changed them.

As Ryouta and Himiko get closer to the Green Crystal, they come to a dark room filled with statues and a powerful smell. They realize too late that the room has been booby-trapped, leaving Ryouta unconscious and Himiko kidnapped by a group of players.

The next scene shows that Himiko's kidnappers are a group of ruthless players that specialize in using fear to win the game. They threaten Himiko with the most gruesome death one could imagine, giving her only one way out - to join their group.

The episode ends with the group of villains propositioning Himiko to join their cause, to which she agrees. In a final twist, we find out that one of the kidnappers is an acquaintance of Himiko from the outside world.

Overall, ‘Virtual Bride’ is an intense and exciting episode that further develops the relationship between Ryouta and Himiko. The plot twists continue, and we see different sides of the other players, making the show all the more intriguing.
