Ep 16. Lesser Evil

In the Burn Notice season 2 episode 16 titled "Lesser Evil," Michael takes on an assignment from Agent Bly in order to clear his name and get his burn notice lifted. Bly tasks him with tracking down and apprehending a terrorist named Tavian Korzha, who has been planning an attack on U.S. soil. To aid him in his mission, Bly assigns Michael a new partner named Vaughn, a former Navy SEAL and current member of Bly's team.

Michael and Vaughn begin their investigation by infiltrating a party thrown by Korzha, where they intend to get close to him and gain his trust. Their plan goes awry, however, when a rival criminal organization shows up and starts a shootout. Michael and Vaughn must fight their way out of the chaos and escape with their lives, but their cover is blown.

As Michael and Vaughn regroup, they learn that Korzha has a mole inside the FBI who fed him information about Bly's operation. With this knowledge, they decide to set a trap for Korzha by leaking false information about a shipment of weapons he is planning to receive. They stage a fake delivery and wait for Korzha to show up, hoping to catch him off guard.

Their plan works, and Korzha falls into their trap. Michael and Vaughn are able to take him into custody, but they soon discover that he is not working alone. Korzha's accomplice is none other than Michael's old mentor and friend, Carla.

Michael is torn between his loyalty to Carla and his obligation to Bly, but ultimately he chooses to turn her in. This decision is not easy, as Carla reveals that she had been working with Michael's father before his death and had been keeping tabs on Michael ever since. She tries to convince Michael that they are on the same side, but he refuses to listen.

As the episode concludes, Michael delivers Korzha and Carla to Bly and finally gets his burn notice lifted. However, he is left with a sense of betrayal and loss, as he has lost yet another important person in his life. The episode ends with Michael reflecting on the price he has paid for his role as a spy and what it means for his future.
