Ep 3. Kung Fu Panda 3

It's the third episode of Cake Wars season 3 and the theme is Kung Fu Panda 3! Four talented bakers are ready to compete to create the best cake inspired by the lovable animated movie. Host Jonathan Bennett introduces the contestants, including returning champion Thiago Silva. Hailey, Robyn, and Vince are also ready to show off their skills and take home the grand prize.

For the first challenge, each baker has to create a cake that represents the spirit of Kung Fu Panda. As they start working, they quickly realize that they have to incorporate both the characters and the landscapes of the movie. Hailey, on the other hand, is feeling confident with her cake's structure.

Once the judges taste each cake and evaluate the design, they make a tough decision and announce the best cake of the first challenge. The winner is Thiago, who earns an advantage in the next round.

The second and final challenge is for each baker to create a cake that represents a scene from Kung Fu Panda 3, using all of their baking skills and creativity. Thiago chooses the final fight scene, with Po fighting Kai atop a pagoda. He decides to make a 3D cake with different levels. Vince picks the supernatural realm where Po learns how to master chi, and creates a cake with a yin-yang symbol, a phoenix, and cherry blossoms. Robyn chooses the noodle shop where Po's father, Mr. Ping, works, and makes a cake with edible noodle bowls and chopsticks. Hailey picks the prison where Po's father, friends, and masters are locked up, and creates a cake that represents their escape and reunion.

As the bakers work, they encounter different issues, from cracked cakes to uneven layers. Thiago's complex design demands precision and he works diligently to make sure everything is aligned. Vince's cake needs to hold its shape and structure, while Robyn's is delicate and needs to be stabilized. Hailey worries about replicating small details that will be key to her cake's success.

Time flies by, and soon the bakers present their final cakes to the judges. As they evaluate each cake, the judges find it hard to choose a winner. They all notice the effort and creativity that each baker put into their cakes. After much discussion, they announce the best cake, and it's a nail-biting finish. The winner of the second challenge, and the overall winner of the Kung Fu Panda 3 episode of Cake Wars season 3 is Thiago Silva!

The Brazilian baker can't believe he won for the second time and thanks his family, country, and competitors for their support.
