Cinderella's father departs on a long business trip, leaving his daughter in the care of her new stepmother. However, the situation does not bode well for her. She is immediately kicked out of her room, banished to the attic, and forced to do the menial chores of the household while her stepmother and stepsisters are out enjoying themselves.
