Ep 3. The Devil's Vinyl

During Constantine season 1 episode 3, "The Devil's Vinyl," Constantine focuses on a haunting case involving a rare record by the famous musician, Robert Johnson. The record, known as "The Devil's Vinyl," is said to be cursed, and anyone who listens to it is doomed to die shortly afterward. With the record being passed around from person to person, it becomes a race against time for Constantine to find and destroy it before any more people suffer.

The episode starts with an old blues musician, Willie Cole, playing Robert Johnson's "Crossroad Blues" in a bar. As he finishes his set, a mysterious man approaches him and offers to buy his autographed copy of Johnson's record. Willie refuses, as he believes the record to be cursed and won't let it leave his sight. However, the man won't take no for an answer and ends up attacking Willie.

Meanwhile, Constantine is contacted by a former bandmate, a musician named Golden Boy, who is convinced that he has the record and is afraid that he's going to die soon. Constantine, Zed, and Chas pay Golden Boy a visit and find that he is in a trance, listening to the record on repeat. They manage to snap him out of it, and Constantine realizes that the record is no longer in Golden Boy's possession.

Constantine suspects that the record is in the hands of a collector named Maddy, who is hosting a party at her home. Constantine and Zed attend the party, and after a few drinks and a performance from a band, they are able to break into Maddy's record room and search for the record. They find it, but a group of thieves hired by the same mysterious man who attacked Willie, catch them in the act.

In the chaos of the robbery, Maddy is killed, and Constantine barely manages to escape with the record. The mysterious man, who reveals himself to be a demon, catches up with Constantine, Zed, and Chas, but is defeated when Constantine plays the record, trapping the demon inside.

As the episode ends, Constantine destroys the cursed record and reflects on the power of music and the danger of dealing with demons.
