Ep 2. Cupcake Champions: Madagascar 3

Cupcake Wars season 6 episode 2 is titled "Cupcake Champions: Madagascar 3". In this episode, four returning cupcake champions from previous seasons are tasked with creating cupcakes inspired by the latest installment in the Madagascar movie franchise, Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted.

The episode starts with host Justin Willman introducing the competitors: Jody of Cupcake Studio, Lisa of Sweet Sisters Cupcake, Karla of Karla's Kreations, and Adam of The Sweet Tooth Fairy. Each competitor is an experienced baker and has won a previous episode of Cupcake Wars.

The first challenge is a taste challenge. The competitors must taste and identify different flavors in a variety of cupcakes blindfolded. They are each given three cupcakes to taste and must identify the correct flavors of each one. The winner of the taste challenge gets to choose their baking station first and has an advantage going into the elimination round.

For the elimination round, the competitors must create cupcakes inspired by Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted. They are given 75 minutes to bake and decorate their cupcakes. The cupcakes must reflect the theme and include recognizable elements from the movie, such as circus animals and European landmarks.

As the bakers get to work, they each have their own unique approach. Jody decides to make a chocolate cupcake with a vanilla filling and circus animal decorations made out of fondant. Lisa is going for a coffee-flavored cupcake with a Nutella filling, topped with a chocolate circus tent. Karla is making a vanilla bean cupcake with a strawberry cream cheese frosting and a fondant lion on top. Adam is creating a banana cupcake with a peanut butter frosting and a monkey made out of fondant.

As the clock winds down, the competitors scramble to finish their cupcakes in time. Jody is having trouble getting her fondant animals to stick to her cupcakes, while Lisa is dealing with a collapsed cake. Karla's cupcakes are looking great, but she's worried about the consistency of her frosting. Adam is struggling with the shape of his monkey and is frantically trying to fix it before time runs out.

Finally, time is up and the cupcakes are judged by a panel of three judges: Florian Bellanger, Candace Nelson and guest judge Hoboken Cake Boss Buddy Valastro. The judges taste each cupcake and provide feedback on the taste and presentation.

In the end, only one competitor can be named the winner of Cupcake Champions: Madagascar 3. The competition is fierce, but the judges ultimately decide on the winner based on the taste and presentation of their cupcakes. Tune in to see who comes out on top in this exciting episode of Cupcake Wars.
