He grabs some of Gnasher's old baby clothes to dress up the puppy, causing a furious Gnasher to run away.

As Dennis scrambles to find Gnasher, his friends remind him of the upcoming science fair deadline. They convince him that they need him to help complete the invention, and Dennis realizes that his friends are more important than his selfish aspirations.

The episode ends with Dennis and his friends presenting their invention - a rubber band-powered contraption that can lift objects into the air. However, their invention is quickly outdone by the entry of Walter, Dennis' arch-nemesis, who presents a hovercraft that effortlessly floats in the air.

Despite losing the science fair, Dennis and his friends are proud of the work they've done and happy that Gnasher has returned to them. As the episode draws to a close, Dennis makes a promise to Gnasher that he'll never forget how much he means to him.
