The following day, they wake up to a surprise; a rare beach bug had come to visit their tent. They all capture it and decide to put it on display at the beach visitor center, where they discover that the bug is an endangered species and a protected animal. The visitor center and local government representatives visit the tent and award the kids for making the discovery, and a permit was issued to study more of these insects in the area.

The episode ends with Dennis and his friends packing up their tents and getting ready to head back home, but with a new bug-catching hobby to keep them occupied. The gang's beach trip was not the luxury vacation they had hoped for, but it was an adventure that they would never forget.
