In this episode of Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, host Guy Fieri is on the hunt for the best succulent sandwiches in America. He kicks off the episode in New Orleans, Louisiana at a classic po' boy spot. Guy samples the fried shrimp and oyster po' boys, and learns about the history of the sandwich from the owner.

Next, Guy heads to Denver, Colorado to visit a small sandwich shop that's making big waves in the local food scene. The shop serves up unique sandwiches, including one made with candied bacon and jalapeƱos. Guy also tries a sandwich filled with Korean short rib and kimchi.

Heading to the east coast, Guy stops in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to check out a shop known for their cheesesteaks. But this cheesesteak isn't your typical Philly sandwich. The owner puts his own spin on it by using ribeye steak and homemade bread.

Then it's off to Austin, Texas where Guy finds a food truck that's serving up sandwiches inspired by Asian cuisine. The truck offers a variety of sandwiches, including one with grilled pork belly and pickled daikon. Guy also tries a sandwich filled with Korean fried chicken.

In Portland, Oregon, Guy visits a sandwich shop that specializes in pastrami. The owner shows Guy how they make their pastrami from scratch, and then serves him a sandwich piled high with the tender, smoky meat.

Finally, Guy ends the episode in Nashville, Tennessee at a sandwich shop that's become a local favorite. The shop serves up classics like a pimento cheese sandwich, as well as inventive sandwiches like one filled with hot chicken tenders and coleslaw.

Throughout the episode, Guy meets the owners of each restaurant and learns about their backgrounds and the inspiration behind their sandwiches. He also tries each sandwich and gives his expert opinion on the flavors and textures. This episode showcases the diversity of the American sandwich and is sure to leave viewers hungry for more.
