Next up is a charming family-run bakery in the medieval town of Lucca. Here, we watch as the bakers deftly shape and bake trays of delectable biscotti, cannoli, and other Italian pastries. Guy gets his hands dirty by helping to mix up a batch of dough before sampling some of the freshly baked treats.
The tour continues in the seaside village of Monterosso, where we visit a bustling market brimming with fresh seafood and other local delicacies. Guy meets with a fishmonger who shows him how to select the freshest catch of the day, as well as a cheese maker who offers up some of his most pungent and flavorful cheese.
The final stop on the journey is a cozy trattoria in the picturesque village of Montepulciano, known for its world-class wines. Here, Guy samples an array of hearty, rustic dishes made with locally sourced ingredients, including tender beef braised in Chianti and handmade pappardelle with a rich wild boar ragù.
