In season 4, episode 5 of Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, host Guy Fieri takes viewers on a journey to some of the best brain freeze-inducing treats across America. From classic ice cream shops to unique frozen dessert spots, this episode is all about satisfying that sweet tooth while cooling down on a hot summer day.

First up, Guy visits a classic soda fountain in St. Louis, Missouri that has been around since 1913. Here, he tries their famous "concrete," a thick milkshake that is so dense you can turn it upside down without any spillage. He also samples their banana split, complete with homemade toppings and deliciously ripe bananas.

Next, Guy heads to a dessert shop in Los Angeles, California that specializes in unique ice cream flavors. From lavender to beet and even olive oil, this spot is all about pushing the boundaries of what ice cream can be. Guy tries a few unconventional flavors, including a spicy mango ice cream that packs a serious punch.

In Phoenix, Arizona, Guy stops by a funky ice cream truck that serves up some seriously Instagram-worthy creations. From colorful cotton candy cones topped with edible glitter to mind-boggling ice cream sandwiches made with donuts instead of cookies, this truck is serving up some seriously fun frozen treats.

Heading down to New Orleans, Louisiana, Guy finds a dessert shop that specializes in snowballs, a classic Southern treat that is essentially shaved ice with flavored syrup. This shop has over 80 flavors to choose from, including some truly unique options like satsuma and wedding cake. Guy tries a few different combinations and is blown away by the refreshing, fruity flavors.

In Miami, Florida, Guy visits an authentic gelato shop that boasts traditional Italian techniques and flavors. He tries a few of their classic flavors, like stracciatella and hazelnut, before sampling a more unique creation: chocolate-covered avocado gelato. Though it may sound strange, Guy is surprised by how well the flavors work together.

Finally, Guy stops in at a classic ice cream parlor in Baltimore, Maryland. This spot has been around for over 100 years and still uses the same antique machines to churn out their famous ice cream. Guy tries a few classic flavors, like butter pecan and mint chocolate chip, before digging into their famous hot fudge sundae.

Overall, this episode of Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives is a sweet and refreshing look at some of the best frozen desserts across America. From classic sundaes to unique flavor combinations, these spots are sure to satisfy any craving for a brain freeze.
