Host Guy Fieri is back for another episode of Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, and this time he's searching for some old time favorites. From classic diners to family-owned restaurants, he's uncovering the best dishes that have stood the test of time.

First, Guy visits a 70-year-old restaurant in Lowell, Massachusetts that's still serving up their famous hot dogs. He tries a few different varieties, including their signature hot dog topped with baked beans and one topped with corned beef hash. The owner shows him around the kitchen and takes him behind the scenes to see how their hot dogs are made from scratch.

Next, Guy heads to a diner in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania that's been around since the 1930s. The owners make all of their own bread and pastries in-house, and Guy can't resist trying their famous cream-filled doughnuts. But he also gets a taste of some savory dishes, like their roast beef and gravy sandwich and their pierogies.

In Newark, New Jersey, Guy visits a soul food restaurant that's been in business for over 50 years. The owner, Mama Sugar, serves up classic dishes like fried chicken and collard greens, but she also puts her own spin on things by adding her signature sauces and seasonings. Guy can't get enough of her mac and cheese and her oxtails.

In Iowa City, Iowa, Guy checks out a retro diner that's been open since the '50s. They specialize in homemade pies, and Guy tries a few different varieties like their blueberry and cherry pies. But he also samples some of their savory dishes like their breaded pork tenderloin sandwich and their chili.

Finally, Guy heads to a family-owned Italian restaurant in Baltimore, Maryland that's been around since the '30s. The family still makes everything from scratch, including their pasta and their meatballs. Guy tries their famous crab cakes, as well as their spaghetti and meatballs, and he even gets a lesson in how to make their signature sauce.

Overall, Guy discovers that old time favorites are still going strong in these classic diners, drive-ins and dives. From hot dogs to doughnuts to fried chicken, these restaurants have been making the same dishes for decades, and they're still as delicious as ever.
