In this episode of Diners Drive Ins and Dives, host Guy Fieri takes viewers on a trip down memory lane to revisit some of the best classic diners and drive-ins across America. The theme of this episode is "blast from the past," and Guy visits some of the oldest and most iconic establishments that have been serving up delicious food for decades.

The first stop on Guy's journey is to The Hollywood Cafe in Tunica, Mississippi. This classic diner has been in operation since 1969 and is a staple in the local community. Guy meets with owner Bill Thomas, who shows him how to make their famous "Delta hot tamales," a regional specialty that draws in diners from all over. Guy also gets a behind-the-scenes look at how the Hollywood Cafe's signature fried chicken is made, and tries his hand at making their famous "soul rolls."

Next, it's off to Minneapolis, Minnesota to visit Jucy Lucy, a dive bar that's been around since 1954. Jucy Lucy is famous for their namesake hamburger, which features a molten cheese filling that oozes out with every bite. Guy meets with owner Carla Bevins, who shares the history of the Jucy Lucy and shows him how to make the perfect one. Guy also tries their "Tot-Chos," a unique twist on nachos made with tater tots instead of chips.

Moving on, Guy visits the city of Angels to check out The Apple Pan, a Los Angeles staple since 1947. The Apple Pan is famous for their classic burgers and pies, which are made fresh every day. Guy meets with owner David Mackey, who shares the history of the restaurant and shows him how to make their famous "steakburger." Guy also tries their classic apple pie and gets a behind-the-scenes look at how it's made.

Then it's off to Detroit, Michigan to visit Buddy's Pizza, a local institution since 1946. Buddy's Pizza is known for their Detroit-style pizza, which features a thick, square crust and unique toppings. Guy meets with owner Robert Jacobs, who shows him how their pizzas are made and shares the restaurant's history. Guy also tries their famous "Detroiter" pizza, which features Michigan-made ingredients and is a customer favorite.

Finally, Guy heads to St. Louis, Missouri to visit Crown Candy Kitchen, a historic soda fountain and candy store that's been around since 1913. Crown Candy Kitchen is famous for their 5-cent candy bars and handmade chocolates, as well as their malt shakes and sundaes. Guy meets with owner Andy Karandzieff, who shows him how their handmade chocolates are made and shares the history of the restaurant. Guy also tries their famous "Crown Sundae," a massive sundae that's made to share.

Throughout the episode, Guy showcases some of the best classic diners and dive-ins across America, highlighting the unique history and flavors that have made these establishments iconic. From tamales to pizza to candy, this episode is a true "blast from the past" that showcases the timeless appeal of classic American cuisine.
